Secret Santa @ Wynnum Market. Santa Claus to visit store in December!!

Wednesday, 14 November 2012 13:00

SECRET SANTA @ WYNNUM MARKET & SANTA CLAUS IN STORE IN DECEMBER

Hi Everyone, Christmas will be soon upon us, and here at the Creative Treasures @ Wynnum Market store we are hosting our very own Secret Santa event. Whether you've been naughty or nice, our Secret Santa won't be putting coal in your stocking this year.

If you're not sure how it works, it's like this - you have from now till December 8th to put your name in the Santa hat (payment must be received by the 8th of December or we can't put your name into the hat). Then, anytime from the 8th of December, you pop down to the Wynnum Market, draw a name from our Santa hat, choose a gift from our store for your Santa recipient, then place it under our Christmas tree. You will receive a gift from a Secret Santa, and you will also become the Secret Santa in selecting a gift for someone else.

You will know whom you are buying a gift for, but you will not know who is your Secret Santa.

Gifts may then be collected the following week, from Monday 17th December right up to Christmas Eve on Monday 24th December.

We will wrap your gift and add a greeting card as a special Christmas service to you at no extra charge. And if you can't make it to our store earlier but would still like to take part, we can select a name and a gift (or gifts) to be placed under the tree for you.

Email us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for more info and our bank account details.

We will be open late on Thursday 13th and Thursday 20th of December for your added convenience, with free coffee, tea and refreshments provided.

You can choose a $10 or a $20 Secret Santa gift, and there is no limit to how many you can purchase.

If you would like to donate a Secret Santa gift(s) to needy children, please let us know.

Also, we have heard rumours from the North Pole that Santa Claus will be in our store in December!!! Watch this site or see in store for details!!!

Let's Revitalize Wynnum.

Thursday, 08 November 2012 22:58

Hi All, we just discovered the newly-formed Positively Wynnum facebook page, and it is a great idea - Wynnum village is greatly in need of a boost to its town centre, or CBD as it is often referred. Empty retail premises on Edith street and Bay Terrace give the impression that Wynnum is becoming a ghost town - and no one seems able to reverse this trend.

There is a little-known and completely non-political, incorporated organisation, the Bayside South Development Forum - bsdf.org - based in Wynnum that is trying to get people to combine ideas, energies and a little bit of time (it doesn't have to be much) to try and effect some real changes. Change doesn't just happen, ordinary people like you and me have to support and drive that change.

If you would like to be a part of making some changes for the future of Wynnum, come along to the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Bayside South Development Forum, held from 7pm next Wednesday, the 14th of November, at the Shire Clerk's Cottage next to the Leisure Centre on Tingal Rd. It is free to become a member, and you are not required to do any more than you feel happy to.

In the past, the BSDF has obtained grants from the federal and state governments to fund various community programmes. Perhaps you have an idea or project requiring funding; if so, the BSDF is a great platform from which to form a sub-committee, submit an application through the correct channels, and put your ideas into action within the local community. Come along and voice your ideas - open to anyone 18 years or older.

FREE to join, NO commitment, totally NON-POLITICALLY ALIGNED.

You can fill your application online at the BSDF website, or download and print yor application and bring it to the Wynnum Market at 82a Florence street Wynnum.

Loud Shirt Day - Fundraiser to Support Deaf Children

Sunday, 07 October 2012 19:23

Every day from October 10th to 19th, we will be running a great competition for Loud Shirt Day, an annual charity event aiming to raise funds to assist deaf children. From the 10th to 19th of October, Creative Treasures at Wynnum Market will be inviting people to be photographed in your loudest shirt, blouse, skirt, dress, coat or apparel. Wear your favourite (or least favourite) brightly coloured shirt or outfit - or have yourself photographed in a garment from our many clothing retailers in-store. All photos will be placed on our Community Notice Board and judged on October 19th for the loudest shirt (or dress, blouse, etc). There will be six prize categories and over a dozen fabulous prizes donated by Wynnum Market stallholders. The six categories are: Loudest Adult Male, Loudest Adult Female, Loudest Teen Male, Loudest Teen Female, Loudest Child Boy, Loudest Child Girl. Prizes valued at more than $400 to be won, including gift vouchers to shop in store.

We ask for your kind donation to assist newborns, infants and young children with hearing disabilities to live a normal life. If you can't make it into our store, why not go online and donate directly at the Loud Shirt day website - Paypal and all major Eftpos/Credit Cards accepted - click on Donate Online

Help give the gift of sound and speech to deaf children. Whether you fancy stripes, florals, polka dots or paisley, as long as its got colour and pizzazz, it will be perfect for Loud Shirt Day.

HOW WILL THE FUNDS BE USED? Your gift will help the members of First Voice give deaf children sound and speech. You’ll help open the door to a life in the world of sound, to opportunities for a full education, employment of choice, social integration with the hearing world and the chance to contribute to their community. All First Voice centres receive only a portion of their funding from state and federal governments, and rely heavily on corporate and community support and fundraising to raise the funds necessary to deliver intensive therapy services to those families that need them. It is only through gifts like yours that hundreds of deaf and hearing impaired children can now tell their mothers and fathers they love them.
